When you travel to Hong Kong you will likely be overwhelmed with all the sites and attractions that await you. It can be hard to decide on just a handful of things to see and do. Here are a few must-see attractions and activities that you should include in your itinerary.
1. I recommend you take a ride on the Star Ferry across the harbor is something surely experience. It's nice to see people who have made a living on fishing and existing harbour in the city centre. There is also an amazing floating restaurant on the harbor where you can experience wonderful culinary delights.
2. Taking the tram to the top of Victoria Peak is also something to try if you have made the effort to go all the way to Hong Kong.
Pollution is something to experience itself and going to spike it would be better to do it before it's too bad, if you want to see the sights. Often, however, even if the view is bad, there are a couple of guys who will take your picture and put up a picture of what would be seen on a clear day-very funny!
3. Ocean Park is a real amusement park. There is a popular Dragon Roller Coaster, Ferris wheel and other rides White knuckles. There is a marine park with a Shark Aquarium which will affect younger visitors to Hong Kong.
You will also see a traditional Chinese-style village where street fairs add exciting colour throughout the atmosphere.
4. Wong Tai Sin is the best known and the Temple of the city and is also the most popular. The temple is a wonderful example of a traditional Chinese temple. What stood out for me was when I visited the temple was the clouds of smoke and the smell of incense sticks that visitors were glowing. The Chinese believe that by burning these sticks that will have good fortune. It is a free for visiting the temple (donations are welcome).
5. Yuen Po Street Bird market. There are hundreds of exotic birds in cages as exotic as buying a bird appears to be a matter of business in Hong Kong. People spend hours with these birds and I was informed that customers just buy a bird if the bird chooses them. It is considered bad luck to buy a bird that is not happy as happiness birds is of extreme importance to Hong Kongians.
6. If you are a shopaholic then visit Stanley market is a must. You'll be able to pick up business for a fraction of the price they are sold for around town. This is a goo time talk do not buy anything from a shop in the capital that does not have a name/Board of Directors of the facade of the store. Shopkeepers in these stores can also take your money and tell you that they don't have the goods in stock. They take your details & promise to bring objects that you paid for your hotel and guess what? Don't.
Repulse Bay is the most famous beach in Hong Kong, apparently so named because the British army had seen off some pirates in ancient times! This is a popular destination for Chinese people and can become so full that there is no place to sit!
November is the best time to go if you want to avoid the hustle and the temperature is still a comfortable 70-degree heat.
